I believe we are all a unique expression of the divine, here to share our wisdom as we uniquely know it. The focus of my life has been in the realm of spirituality, relationship, sexuality, and integration of light and dark. From the beginning of my marriage I used my relationship as a way to create a better life; to see where my husband and I could work things through and by doing so grow as individuals and as a couple. I began to see my relationship as a tool for spiritual growth.
One day as I was driving I was thinking about all the things that irked me about my partner. Suddenly it dawned on me, "I am helping to create this, I am part of this dynamic." I noticed that when I was pointing a finger at him the rest of them were pointing back at me.
We are attracted to our reciprocal - the perfect person to press our buttons and integrate the fragmented parts of ourselves that didn't get fulfilled in our prior experiences. Seeing my relationships as a mirror in which I see myself has proven invaluable in my personal development.
What irks us about our partner is usually something we need to see and work on or we would not be with that person. Put another way, we would not have a charge around that issue. The relationship reflects everything back: love, anger, resentment, respect. What ever we put our focus on becomes the priority.
Sexuality is the sacred way masculine and feminine come into union. Sacred sex harmonizes the dual energies within each of us - whether we call them God and Goddess, Yin and Yang, or darkness and light - using passion and intimacy to combine and direct those forces both within and between ourselves. Through this process we break through the limitations of the personal self and experience a sense of oneness with creation. Infusing our sexual relationships with spirituality, we take our pleasure to a new dimension, transforming our sexual drive into spiritual energy, transcending the physical body, and entering a state of heightened consciousness.
I was sexually abused as a child. Healing this wound first began by being in relationship. Learning to trust and open, love and be loved. Then the healing process moved into how I felt about my body, being in my body and my sexual expression with myself and others. For me sexuality is intimacy (in-to–me-see). It became a barometer of where I was with myself and my lover. How real, open and alive I could be.
I was naturally attracted to Tantra. Western Tantra brings a blend of Sacred Sexuality, the Kama Sutra teachings, modern psychology, and eastern philosophy. Tantric masters consider the ultimate goal to be the dissolving of the ego and complete union with the divine energy that is within us all and throughout all of nature. I like the way Suzie Heumann put it: "Being well practiced at the art of sexual ecstasy and having entered the divine realms of ego dissolution over and over allows for the veils and boundaries of separation to fall at our feet. We open again and again, each time allowing more in - friends, lovers, family, orgasms, nature, abundance, light, dark, and spirit. Nothing seems separate anymore, including our selves. At times we can even experience our own divinity - our own true nature. That is when transformation and transcendence occurs."
I wanted to teach and help people heal issues around sexuality and become
more embodied. To this end, I studied Body-centered Psychotherapy and massage therapy. . I
later pursued certification as a Sacred Intimate and
started a private practice. Then I went on to get certified as a Sexological
Body Worker. Meanwhile I was introduced to David
Deida's teachings. His work struck a cord of resonance within me. It
gave me a foundation for understanding the masculine and feminine dance. I am trained by Jack Painter who created Pelvic
Heart Integration. I recently became Shamanic Priestess with Annya Mcndrews.
A Tantra text says: "He who realizes the truth of the body can then come to
know the truth of the universe." For this reason, I am an Embodiment
coach, using many body-based modalities.
I believe that we are each born with an inherent sense of ourselves, an intuitive knowing that, if we listen, guides us to being with ourselves, in our bodies, in ways that are honest, authentic and true.
